Not everyone in the class plans on fighting fires though. Some, like LAHS senior Maven Rankin, plan on becoming EMTs after graduation. Rankin takes the EMT and Fire Technology classes to learn a diverse set of skills. "We have access to a bunch of different equipment," Rankin said. "We got to practice putting the hoses together, using them, stuff like that."
