LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. — Have you ever wanted to unwind with a fun game of Roblox? The game has introduced a new age verification system in which all you have to do to register is enter your email, password, bank account number, social security number, home address and complete a facial retina scan!
“Of course, we don’t keep your information in a giant data center so we can sell it to 3rd party companies, haha, that would completely go against Roblox guidelines,” said Roblox CEO, Jacob Noobian, in an interview with sneakycompanies.
Roblox rolled out this new system at the start of 2026 in order to protect users and ensure safety. However, many gamers argue that the requirement of uploading a birth certificate, passport and other sensitive information is going too far.
“Safety is our number one priority at Roblox. If users can’t prove where they were on their fourth birthday, we cannot allow them to build a virtual pizza shop,” said Noobian.
Parents across the nation have hired legal representatives in order for their children to play the game, with some claiming they had to take out a loan to afford one. Children are being asked to verify their tax records and W-2 forms.
“My eight-year-old son picked up a part-time job in order to obtain federal tax records, just to play this game,” said Lisa Branan, a parent of a Roblox gamer.
Failing to prove your age leads to dire consequences. Users expressed that their avatars have been reset to a default baby character. Additionally, some Robloxians are only able to play tutorials forever. Some gamers have even developed a new type of morse code in order to communicate with each other, since chat privileges were taken away.
Roblox has released plans to make age verification even stricter within the following years. Foreshadowing ideas like DNA tests or time machine verification. Although safety matters, maybe a block game shouldn’t feel like applying for citizenship.

I loved your exaggeration of Roblox’s age verification system, since it perfectly captured how absurd some online safety measures can be. The humor blended in greatly and was relatable. Thank you for this creative article.

I love how this article includes satire that cannot only directly criticize lawmakers and Roblox, but also highlight the real word problem we face today. As a kid growing up, I never had any fear of going on online games and being taking advantage of, but now it seems this is a big issue for the younger generation. I believe it is important as a society that we help protect our children to prevent future incidences such as this.

The satire here actually is reasonably and I can agree on a personal level. One example was when some of my younger cousins came over for a family get together and they wanted to play some games on Roblox while the adults talk. I try to set up Roblox for them but this ID verification stopped me from making them an account to play

This article is amazing! The satire tone paired with real life issues such as undisclosed use of data by large companies truly creates an interesting and comical read. I love the volume of jokes included in the article as none of it feels repetitive and each paragraph provides a new laugh. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this article, it really made my day!

This article truly is a satirical masterpiece that thoughtfully highlights the issue of companies collecting and selling the data of their users. The exaggerations and various testimonies greatly enhance the criticism for game companies like Roblox. I even deleted Roblox in fear that they will sell my data.

I love your use of exaggeration in this article to criticize the ridiculous age requirements that Roblox imposes. All of the requirements that Roblox mandates are unreasonable, and ring true from my own time playing as a young child. I applaud you for bringing light to such a serious matter.

I love how this article directly highlights how ridiculous Roblox’s new policy is. Everyday after a long day of school, all I want is to unwind and play a simple game of Roblox. Because of this new rule I’m going to have to find another way to relieve my stress… Thanks a lot Roblox.
