SEAL BEACH, Calif. — Over 200 classic cars showed up to attend the 38th Annual Seal Beach Classic Car Show on April 25, 2026. From classic American icons to a sprinkle of European heroes, it resulted in over 700 spectators from across the country. The array of cars went all the way down Main St. to the pier, with some cars also at the Electric Ave. intersection.
“There were so many cars that I didn’t know where to look first,” said Dylan Moran.
This event not only attracted car enthusiasts and collectors, but also many photographers. It also assisted with the local businesses; with such a high density of people walking down the street, it was definitely a busy day for many businesses and a good time for all. Some of the standouts of the car show that got a lot of attention were the British-built Austin-Healeys, with over 11 of them scattered around. There were also many pristine low-mileage examples, which included a Mercedes 280SE, BMW 2002 and Alfa Romeo Spider.
“So many of these cars tell a story,” collector William Downey said. “What many no longer understand is the history that these cars tell and that’s why it’s so important to preserve them.”
With all of the local businesses within arm’s reach, along with a fun and engaging atmosphere, many people stayed until all of the cars began to leave at the end of the show. Many people moved their chairs from Main St. to roads leading out to Pacific Coast Highway to hear the cars accelerate out of the show. Good food, good music and fantastic cars are an exceptional recipe for a great time. It was a sight to see and hear all of the classics leave with a spectacular soundtrack.
Next year’s show is already being talked about and planned; anticipation is already building. Every year, this event brings people together to talk about car history and related interests. Something special will be in the works for the 40-year anniversary of this event coming up in 2028, which many people are excited about. Only time will tell what this special event will bring in the coming years, and most importantly, what cars we will see next.
