About the Contributors
Katie Arnoult, Co-Editor-in-Chief
Katie Arnoult is a senior at LAHS and has been a part of the Griffin Gazette for four years. She loves reporting on community events, featuring underrepresented aspects of the school, and writing stories from a student perspective; at the center of it all, storytelling is what is most appealing to her. Katie has won multiple Best of SNO awards and hopes to further grow her journalism skills this year. On top of her work with the Griffin Gazette, Katie has been an Editorial Intern for Spotlight Schools and is currently the Senior Marketing Intern for the Youth Center. This school year, she is the co-president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club, and she is also a member of CSF. In her free time, Katie loves to read, play around with graphic design, and ride her dirt bike. She hopes to pursue a career in communications or journalism in the future.

Jaya Eapen, Co-Editor-in-Chief
Jaya Eapen is a senior at Los Alamitos High School and is going into her third year at the Griffin Gazette. Beginning as a staff writer, she moved up to audience editor her junior year and is thrilled to serve as the new co-editor-in-chief. She spent the past summer in NYC at the School of The New York Times, taking the class “Writing the Big City.” Before her junior year, she also interned at the Spotlight Schools as an editorial intern. She is the current student board representative for the Los Alamitos-Rossmoor Friends of the Library and the co-president of LAHS’s book club, Steeped in Stories.
Jaya is eager to continue writing culture pieces, as well as supporting her staffers to the best of her ability. She can’t wait to grow the Griffin Gazette’s multimedia capabilities and continue the publication’s award-winning reputation. When she’s not writing, Jaya adores experimenting with baking, reading through her extensive book list and designing different sewing pieces.
