LOS ALAMITOS, CA — The coming of April brings about the spring season, a time of warmth after the long winter. Los Alamitos High School honored the new season today during an extended lunch.

Known as the “Spring Launch,” this school holiday was dedicated to introducing spring. Los Al did a similar celebration for Thanksgiving last fall where Griffins enjoyed hot cocoa and games. Los Al’s school spirit shines in big and small ways, and this is one of the smaller ways for students to bond and make merry.

Students spent the extra 14 minutes of lunch having fun and playing games. Music played for the majority of lunch, raising spirits. Students eagerly lined up for either a root beer float or a cherry Coke float, both served with the traditional vanilla ice cream. All students came together to relish in this delicious treat.

“It was unexpected, but it was tasty and definitely improved my day,” said freshman Sarah Jiminez.

In front of and behind the PAC, students participated in classics like hacky sack and Connect 4. On the staff side of the Griffin population, staff members received Subway for lunch.

The simple thrills of life like the coming of new seasons are what make life pleasant. It’s important for students to make these memories, no matter how small. With the end of the school year quickly approaching, this year is made all the more memorable with every activity held.
