LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. – When the internet-famous Dubai chocolate craze first started making its rounds on social media, it began as a delicious and luxurious treat that struck curiosity. Over time, as influencers shared their experiences, fueling the trend, it became global. The product soon grew from a chocolate bar to a variety of confections and sweets, inspiring many adaptations to its flavor.
Initially, the Dubai-originated milk chocolate bar filled with pistachio cream and butter-roasted angel hair was popularized to share the carefully prepared treat with the world. Dubai chocolate’s popularity soared, and its versatility led to numerous variations, with the treat now coming in forms such as cookies, crepes, ice cream, lip gloss and more.
“I’ve been to multiple locations trying out new Dubai chocolate recipes. Right now, I’m having a Dubai cookie, but early this week I tried Dubai chocolate strawberries,” Da’Mani Smith, a customer at the local Chai Master, said.
According to Entrepreneur Media, Sarah Hamouda was inspired by her pregnancy cravings, which drove her to become eager to create something more than a “regular” chocolate bar. Since Hamouda first experimenting in 2022, it has evolved into something more than just a chocolate bar; it’s a global trend.
Maria Vehera, a TikTok food influencer, showcased herself trying Dubai Chocolate bar in her car, and the video has been viewed more than 56 million times. Since then, hundreds of people have filmed their own reactions to tasting the bars or created recipe guides to replicate it at home, CNN travel reported.
“Dubai chocolate always feels indulgent, unique and unforgettable: a true taste of elegance and warmth,” Emily Penick, a sophomore at Los Alamitos High School, said.
The Dubai chocolate trend exploded with popularity online; students seek out Dubai chocolate-flavored treats, and establishments offer it as a marketing tactic.
