LOS ALAMITOS, CA — On Tuesday, Feb. 13, Los Al’s Girls Frosh softball team played their first game of the season. The team played on the Los Alamitos High School JV softball field against Cal High School and won with a score of 18-4. This win marked the beginning of a promising softball season for the Griffins, with many more upcoming games to win.
“I think this is a good start to the first game of the season,” said Giada Capozzolo, a freshman. “From here we’re only going to get better, so I have a good feeling about my team and I think everyone is going to put in effort and work.”
Spring sports are starting, and the Frosh softball team is having a great start for the season ahead. To see future softball games, the schedule can be found on the Los Alamitos High School calendar.
This new season and the first game gave the audience the chance to see the lady Griffins work together as a team. The spirit was high as Los Al students cheered each other on while batting and pitching. The entire game the team participated and worked well together.
“I think it went really well,” said Carrisa Long, a parent of a Los Al Frosh softball player. “The girls looked prepared and looked like they had fun competing. They looked impressive.”
As well as participating and working very hard in their game, the team also showed great sportsmanship by shaking their opponents’ hands after the game. After the game, the team huddled together to have one last talk before leaving the field. The whole team supported each other and worked together to play a great game.
The Girls Frosh softball team has and will continue practicing and working hard. This new season is filled with many other upcoming games with the opportunity to watch and support. As the season kicks off, Los Al’s softball teams will continue to play with the hopes of dominating the field.
