LOS ALAMITOS, CA — To commemorate the season of thankfulness, Los Alamitos High School ASB held Gratitude Week with spirit days, lunch activities, and their annual Thanksliving lunch event on Thursday, Nov. 16.
On Monday, Nov. 13, students came to school dressed in their best fall flannel. On Tuesday during lunch, students were able to make gratitude grams for their friends and teachers. On Wednesday, ASB hung up posters around campus saying “thank you” to teachers and staff.
The highlight of the week was the Thanksliving lunch event on Thursday, with an extended lunch period. Students could get free churros, hot cocoa and play lawn games outside. Additionally, Los Al PTSA provided free lunch for Los Al faculty and staff as a way to promote gratitude and bring people together.
Finally, on Friday, students were encouraged to wear fall colors.
“I think it’s super awesome that they’re doing this for us, especially giving us an extended lunch,” said Alice Delouche, a freshman, during the Thanksliving event. Although students reported that the churros and hot cocoa were mediocre, the extended lunch period made it all worthwhile.
“I think Gratitude Week was successful, and a lot of people really enjoyed [the event] during the extended lunch,” said ASB member Trent Massey.
As the last week of school before Thanksgiving Break came to a close, Griffins were able to enjoy an eventful week full of the fall spirit and gratitude. Enjoy your Thanksgiving break, Los Al!
