LOS ALAMITOS, Calif — Summer is right around the corner, and it is time to explore and travel. Whether you are into beaches, mountains or cities, there is a place for everyone. Here are the five best places to visit this summer.
Miami, Florida, is the best place to visit this summer. It is a beautiful place with amazing beaches, lots of palm trees and sunny skies. The city is full of energy, and you can walk through Little Havana and grab some food while live music plays in the background. If you are into art, you can also check out the Wynwood Walls, a neighborhood that has turned into a giant mural gallery.
San Diego, California, is the second-best place to visit this summer. It has very beautiful beaches with nice, warm weather. There are also lots of tourist attractions such as Legoland, SeaWorld and San Diego Zoo. One of my favorite beaches is La Jolla Shores in San Diego, because of the blue waters, sea lion spotting and snorkeling.
“I went to Legoland last week for jazz and it was so fun,” said Los Alamitos High School Jazz I senior, Sebastian Cruz.
Next, Yellowstone National Park, California, is the third-best place to visit this summer. It is the world’s first national park and has over 10,000 geothermal features such as geysers, hot springs, mud pots and fumaroles. It is also home to Old Faithful, one of the most famous geysers in the world. The park covers more than 2.2 million acres, including mountains, rivers, waterfalls and vast forests that make it a paradise for photographers, hikers and nature lovers.
The fourth-best place to visit this summer is San Francisco, California. It is home to very famous places such as the Golden Gate Bridge, which is 746 feet tall. It is also home to one of the most famous prisons, Alcatraz Island which held the most dangerous criminals. One attraction at Alcatraz includes taking a ferry to the island and experiencing the cold temperatures and atmosphere of the prison.
“San Francisco is so nice, I visited Alcatraz and it was so cool,” LAHS senior Corey Hanna said.
Pensacola Beach, a beach in Pensacola, Florida, is the fifth-best place to visit this summer. This beach has majestically crystal clear water where you can surf, go snorkeling, chill in the water and enjoy the nice, hot beach. The best part is that it is absolutely free to enjoy.
Finally, these places are the best places to visit since they have everything you could want this summer, including good weather and amazing tourist spots to visit alone or with family.
