LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. — Are you in the mood for chai? Then visit Chai Master in Los Alamitos! This cafe has a variety of treats from chai and taro lattes to Dubai chocolate pastries. Renovated from the Filipino cafe Teofilo Coffee Company, this modern chai shop incorporates beautiful European decorations to put your mind at ease while you sip on a delicious beverage.

The menu represents different cuisines from around the world. With its vast Dubai chocolate selection, you can get a taste of Arabic culture. If you like a Filipino-inspired sweet, try the taro milk latte or a strawberry sago pastry. Its menu utilizes many aspects of East and South Asian cuisine, such as matcha and masala chai.

When you step through the door, you are taken to a peaceful beach in Greece. From the ceramic pots, abstract mirrors and woven hanging lights to the sleek, minimalistic seats, there is a relaxed ambiance. When you sit down, you’re immediately at peace, ready to focus on an upcoming assignment or relax from the busy nature of Los Al. The music adds to the multicultural ambiance, whether it’s a Korean artist like BTS or a bachata artist like Myke Towers.

After the grand opening of Chai Master on May 3, students come here during their lunch break to escape the stress and pressure of academic life.

“I’d love to visit Chai Master, and I’ve heard the matcha is very good,” Los Alamitos High School senior Nicole Didriksen said.

Other students are against this new place.

“It has a TikTok menu, and the wait is really long,” Randy Harrell, LAHS junior, said.

However, we enjoyed the menu. We tried the Masala Chai and Taro Milk Latte. We also devoured the Dubai chocolate cheesecake and Dubai croissant. These drinks were carefully handcrafted and made with expertise.

The Taro Milk Tea was sweetened with condensed milk and taro flavoring, while the Dubai chocolate croissant was flaky, crispy and buttered golden brown with pistachio, kadayif and milk chocolate. The Masala Chai had a creamy taste with multiple spices, and the Dubai cheesecake was rich with a crunchy top layer of kadayif.

We would recommend this cafe if you’re craving a delicious treat and a calm environment! If you’re feeling adventurous, try a Filipino Ube Milk Latte with sago, matcha or delicious Dubai chocolate delicacies at Chai Master at 10525 Los Alamitos Blvd.
