LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. — After a long-anticipated wait, prom season has finally arrived at LAHS, and this year’s theme will surely leave students star-struck. Upperclassmen will spend their evening with the theme “A Night Under the Stars” at the California Science Center, guaranteeing an unforgettable evening.
The theme, announced on Tuesday, April 15, immediately thrilled juniors and seniors on campus as they began to plan outfits, photos and more. With a venue as iconic as the California Science Center, it promises a night filled with adventure. Guests will dance beneath the space shuttle, Endeavor, surrounded by spellbinding exhibits that truly bring the theme to life.
“I think that it’s a great way to end my senior year. It’s an incredibly unique venue, and who doesn’t want to dance under a spaceship?” said LAHS senior Sarah Dicus.
While the full event decor is a mystery, students can expect an atmosphere that captures the riveting sight of a starry night. The California Science Center provides a distinct contrast between the formal attire and the science-based setting that adds a special twist for students to look forward to.
Prom is set for May 17, 2025, so be sure to mark your calendars and get started on dress shopping! Tickets go on sale as soon as Thursday, April 17 and students are encouraged to buy their tickets as soon as possible. Whether attending with a date, friends or by yourself, the night is meant to be a celebration of how much this school year has achieved!
“It’s going to be a great way to end my four years of hard work, that’s for sure,” said Kayden Fraz, LAHS senior.
As the school year comes to a close, prom offers one final chance for our students to get together in style. With a theme like Under the Stars, this night is shaping up to be a night so unforgettable, it might just be written in the stars.

I thought the theme seemed kind of basic, but when you put it like that, I kind of want to go to prom now. (I’m a freshman).
