LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. — The holidays are near and many are in need. Help out by donating to one of the many toy drives within the community.
Interact Club’s Holiday Giving Drive
The Interact Club’s Holiday Giving Drive helps give back to local families. You can donate gift cards or cash to room 604 from Nov. 22 to Dec. 13 and earn service hours. The math department is also holding an inter-class competition. The math period that raises the most money can choose a pizza or doughnut party.
“We are collecting gift cards and cash through Dec. 10. Gift cards to grocery stores and places like Target are preferred. Mrs. Grimshaw buys the gifts, and we need volunteer drivers to take them to Casa Youth Shelter,” said Interact Club president, Bella Kim.
Youth Center’s Adopt a Family
The Youth Center’s Adopt a Family program partners with local businesses to provide community members in need with essential items.
“The Youth Center’s Adopt a Family program brings joy and support to families in need during the holiday season. By partnering with local businesses and community members, the program provides essential items such as toys, clothes, hygiene products and blankets to families who may otherwise struggle to make ends meet,” said Youth Center CEO, Lina Lumme.
To donate, locate one of the seven stores that have partnered with the organization:

Griffins Grill, 11272 Los Alamitos Blvd.
The Meat Company, 1139 Los Alamitos Blvd.
RCSD Rush Park, 3001 Blume Dr.
Kindness Collective’s Toy Drive
The Kindness Collective Club and the Bright Hearts Club are hosting a holiday toy drive until Dec. 13. To donate, drop off your toys in room 150 and earn up to five points through CSF or 10 hours of community service through the Bright Hearts Club. The list of items can be viewed through this link. The Kindness Collective requests various toys such as Legos, rattles, dolls and board games.
Make sure to support these many causes this December to bring happiness to the community and spread love this season!
