LOS ALAMITOS, CA– The Los Alamitos “Locos” has been named the number one Student Section for Orange County, California.

Following the recent football game versus Santa Margarita on September 15, almost 1,000 students drove to Veteran’s Stadium in Long Beach to show their support for the Los Alamitos Football Team. With Los Alamitos Football ranking 45th in the nation and Santa Margarita ranking 68th, it’s no wonder that hundreds of Griffins came out to support their team.

Manny Alvarez, head writer for the OC Student Section, founded the company during the 2010s in the hope to promote both unity and community throughout Southern California’s school spirit with one common interest: football. Through the organization, hundreds of high schools compete head-to-head in hopes of gaining both media attention and recognition from the company.

“It’s always fun being able to hang out with my friends during the games,” one senior said. It’s no question why Los Alamitos “Locos” has been ranked number one week after week; due to A.S.B., Associated Student Body, students at the high school are given a unique opportunity to participate in challenges, dress-up days, and all-around comradery in the name of school spirit.

“I’m proud to be a part of the Los Alamitos Locos,” one junior said. Although A.S.B. is a component in the large student body attendance at sporting events, it actually comes down to how the facility uses Los Al’s school spirit during the academic school year. Students are always given the opportunity to express themselves with the Los Alamitos red and blue school colors, thanks to student body engagement pep rallies, and athletic events. With the help of administration, ASB, and the school community, Los Alamitos students are continually given the unique chance to market themselves both within their community and throughout Orange County.
